SITES Thematic Programs

Each SITES station participates in one or more of the Thematic Programs, SITES AquaNet (Blue), SITES Spectral (Light Green) and SITES Water (Dark Green). Each SITES station participates in one or more of the Thematic Programs, SITES AquaNet (Blue), SITES Spectral (Light Green) and SITES Water (Dark Green).

SITES Thematic Programs offer open data from long-term monitoring and experimental installations. The programs connect the individual stations in order to support and enhance research on both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, and include for example measurements of hydrological, meteorological and water chemical parameters, phenological observations, as well as replicated large-scale enclosure experiments.

Read more about the three programs, the data available, and find out how researchers can use the facilities and infrastructure:

SITES AquaNet - A standardized  facility for mesocosm experiments in lakes.
SITES Spectral - A facility for collecting spectral data for ecosystem monitoring using phenology cameras, UAVs and fixed sensors.
SITES Water - A coordinated long-term monitoring program of
hydrological, physical, chemical, and  biological parameters within lakes and streams.
