Swedish Infrastructure for Ecosystem Science

SITES is a national research infrastructure for terrestrial and limnological field research. SITES extends throughout Sweden with different ecosystems and climatic zones, from agriculture lands, forest, cultivated forest to mires, streams, lakes and alpines.

SITES offers all scientists to use participating field research stations. You also have the opportunity to use existing data collected at the stations. There are, in a number of areas of research, extensive and long series of data.

In 2018, a documentation project was initiated at Svartberget's research station, a collaboration between the research station and the photographer Andreas Palmén from Umeå.

The purpose of the project is to make professional image material available that can illustrate the infrastructure that the park offers, the people who work there and the research being conducted.
