On September 2, Simone Moras started his new position within the SITES Secretariat Staff. Welcome Simone!
1. Tell us about your background
My interest for nature and the environment led me to pursue a PhD in Limnology at Uppsala University, which I completed in 2024. My research focused on understanding and predicting methane emissions from lake sediments.
2. What is your current role within SITES?
I am currently working within the Secretariat team, where my main responsibilities include data management and providing communication support.
3. What are you most looking forward to working on with SITES?
I am particularly excited about deepening my knowledge of environmental monitoring, and SITES offers a fantastic opportunity to gain new insights into how a network of research stations and researchers collaborate to better understand ecosystems. Additionally, I look forward to expanding my familiarity with different types of ecosystem data.
4. What do you do in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, and baking bread. I also play football on a local team in Uppsala.
