To kick-off the year, SITES leadership team, including the Secretariat, the SITES Station Managers and Thematic Program leads, met in-person at SITES Grimsö Wildlife Research Station this week (30-31 Jan 2024). The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on SITES accomplishments from 2023 as well as strategize and prioritize for 2024. It was also a nice opportunity to say thanks to two SITES Station Managers, Tobias Rutting (Skogaryd) and Johan Westin (Svartberget), who will soon be leaving their positions as SITES Station Manager, and at the same time welcome their successors (who will officially start in the next months with an accompanying news item to introduce them) along with Brooke Micke, incoming SITES Röbacksdalen Station Manager. The meeting included a tour of the station, where Gunnar Jansson, SITES Grimsö Station Manager, talked about the history of the station and wildlife research in the area. Thanks to Gunnar for hosting and for all those that attended for making the meeting a thoughtful and welcoming event!
